Project Manager, Eastern Himalaya
Growing up in a small village where conserving natural resources had always been a necessity intensified my will towards contributing to conservation. My interest in ecology fuelled when I started visiting different habitats and exploring the biodiversity at these places during my graduation studies. My Master’s dissertation was based on recreation ecology wherein I looked into theImpact of tourism on herbaceous vegetation of a rock outcrop in Lonavala, Maharashtra.
I strongly believe in outreach and contribute to that end in my capacity. Owing to my previous jobs, I got an opportunity to interact with communities from different states and student cohort from diverse socio-economic background. I feel it is important to reach out, the importance of biodiversity, to the communities and have them play an active role in scaling up the level of conservation .I also enjoy travelling and drawing.
